Water & Temperature System Add-on


Survival becomes more challenging when you have to keep track of more factors. The Water & Temperature System mod introduces two important systems—thirst and temperature. Now you’ll need to monitor your water level, choose the right armor, and pay attention to the biome, time of day, and even altitude. In the game, the desert heat can weaken you, while the cold in the mountains will slow you down and cause damage.

Features

Temperature

• Warmest during the day, colder at night

• Cold in the mountains, warmer underground

• A roof protects you and balances temperature

• Campfires, lava, torches, and furnaces provide warmth

• Swimming cools you: the deeper you go, the stronger the effect; long swimming leads to freezing

• Leather armor protects from cold, heavy armor increases overheating in heat

• The Nether is always hot, while the End is always cold

Temperature Status

• Very cold: Slowness II, fatigue, gradual damage

• Cold: Slowness I

• Normal: No effects

• Hot: Hunger effect

• Very hot: Hunger II, weakness, damage over time

Thirst

• Decreases while moving: faster in heat, slower in cold

• Moving uses water, running uses more

• Difficulty affects the rate of consumption

• Temperature affects the rate

• Healing uses water

• Fruits and soups restore thirst, while dry food increases it

Thirst Effects

• Below 6: strong slowness

• Below 2: nausea

• 0: damage



Water Flask

• Crafted from Leather and String

• You can drink straight from water, but there’s a risk of poisoning and hunger

• Dirty flask is filled with water, gives several sips with a risk of effects

• Clean flask is made via Furnace or Campfire, no negative effects

• Purified water bottle restores more thirst without effects

• Cauldron allows you to drink water
