Minecraft 26.70.21 for Android

Developers have released a test version of Minecraft 26.70.21 for Android. The winter drop adds a full set of blue Packed Ice Bricks and eerie singing ice over frozen waters, while a free built-in Music Features Add-On lets you press your own discs and carry music in your pocket. Several combat and mining values were also brought in line with Java Edition.
Drop 4 of 2026
More features for the winter drop. What's new:
- Packed Ice Bricks
- Ambient sounds for ice
- Improvements to Ice Caves, Frostbites, and Ice Balls
Packed Ice Bricks
A new building block set. Properties:
- Bricks with a cool blue tint
- Comes as a full set with slabs, stairs, walls, and chiseled blocks
- Made from Packed Ice
- Never melts, so your icy base stays intact
- A Pickaxe mines it fastest
- Known issue: the name, instrument sounds, Creative inventory position, and waterlogging are still being worked on
Singing Ice
New ambient sounds. How it works:
- Ice over frozen rivers and oceans can now make haunting singing sounds
- The block needs at least 8 ice blocks on every side horizontally, air above, and water below
- Packed, Blue, and Frosted Ice now have their own ice sounds instead of borrowing the glass ones
Drop Improvements
Polished existing features. Main points:
- Breaking Brittle Ice can now drop you into the caves below a Crevasse
- Crevasses appear more evenly in Ice Caves with different ceiling heights
- Ice Balls now deal 2 base damage, hitting softer as they slow down
- Potions of Freezing can be extended with Redstone Dust
- Frostbites hold Shields like other Zombies and no longer spawn underground outside Ice Caves
- Polar Bears, Snow Golems, and Strays are immune to Freezing
- Polar Bears can no longer spawn on Brittle Ice
- Wither Skeletons can pick up Ice Balls
- Cows, Pigs, Chickens, and Frogs from Spawn Eggs appear in cold variants inside Ice Caves
- Closed captions were added for Frostbite and Zombie transformations
- Updated textures for the Jukebox, Icicle tips, and the Ice Crystal item
Music Features Add-On
A free add-on built right into the game. Main features:
- No need to download it from the Marketplace - just enable the "Music Features Add-On" resource pack in your world
- Blank Disc - a craftable disc that serves as the base for your own records
- Disc Press - a block that records music onto Blank Discs and turns them into Track Discs; it already includes the main menu songs
- Track Disc - a finished record you can play in a Jukebox or a Pocket Jukebox
- Pocket Jukebox - holds up to 20 discs and plays music that only you can hear
- The Pocket Jukebox takes the color of the Bundle used to craft it and can be dyed later
- Doesn't work in Realms yet
- If the Disc Press looks empty, restarting the game should help
Changes
Made 10 changes. Main ones:
- Mining Fatigue, Haste, and Conduit Power now affect mining speed the same way as in Java Edition
- Frost Walker freezes water in an even circle and only while you're on the ground, so diving into water is safe again
- Guardians now hit for 6 damage and Elder Guardians for 8, as in Java Edition
- Evoker Fangs and projectiles fired by mobs now deal damage based on difficulty, matching Java Edition
- The End flash now lasts as long as in Java Edition
- Skulls and Chests face the right way in first and third person
- Arabic and Persian text is now joined correctly and written right to left, including chat and signs
- Xbox invites received during gameplay now show up in the Social Drawer
- The player profile overview loads faster
- Ambient music stays muted when you come back within range of a playing Jukebox
Bug Fixes
Fixed 18 bugs. Details:
- Honey Blocks once again support blocks on every side
- Breaking a Cushion or Armor Stand near a Sculk Catalyst no longer spreads Sculk
- Importing add-ons no longer creates broken folders that Windows can't open
- The freezing overlay disappears after respawning
- The health bar updates properly when a Totem of Undying kicks in
- Transparent particles are lit correctly in Vibrant Visuals
- Shield, Crossbow, Spears, and Spyglass animate correctly in first person
- The Spyglass no longer keeps being used after going through a portal
- Many items are held in first and third person more like in Java Edition
- Splash potions, lingering potions, and XP bottles have correct captions when they break
- Wind Charges play the right sound and caption when thrown
- Searching the Marketplace on Android no longer kicks you back to the front page or main menu
- Realms uploads no longer fail because of an unexpected block error
- The simulation distance description in Realms shows the correct range
- Worlds save properly when the game is suspended or closed
- The game no longer crashes after staying in menus for a long time
- Sign-in and menus load faster thanks to fewer background server requests
- High and Ultra Block Light Quality options are disabled on devices that don't support them
Technical Changes
Added 30 technical changes for addon development and testing. Among them, the /gametest runset command can now run several tags at once and skip tests with the new withoutTags option.
