Minecraft 26.60.29 for Android

Developers have released a test version of Minecraft 26.60.29 for Android. Winter is coming early: the fourth drop of 2026 opens with icy caves, glowing crystals, dangerous icicles, and a new hostile mob that loves to freeze players. The build also brings a refreshed main menu, faster Realms downloads, and a long list of fixes.
Drop 4 of 2026
The first look at the winter drop. What's inside:
- Ice Cave
- Ice Crystal
- Icicle
- Freezing effect
- Frostbite
- Ice Ball
Ice Cave
A new cave biome. Main features:
- Hides underground beneath cold Overworld biomes
- Walls and floor are made mostly of Packed Ice and Calcite
- Icicles hang from the ceiling, while huge Packed Ice spikes rise from the floor and drop from above
- Small patches of Snow cover the ground here and there
- Ores sit in pockets of Stone and Deepslate
- No Dirt, Granite, or Glow Lichen in sight
- Strays and Frostbites join the usual cave mobs
- Ice Crystals are scattered across the floor
Ice Crystal
A new light source. Properties:
- The only natural light you'll find in Ice Caves
- Grows on top of Packed Ice
- Looks and works a lot like Amethyst Clusters
- Can be placed facing any direction
- Breaks when its supporting block is removed
- Known issue: crystals are currently smaller than planned
Icicle
A new cave block. Details:
- Covers the ceilings of Ice Caves under Packed Ice
- Behaves similarly to Dripstone and Sulfur Spikes
- Can grow up to 5 blocks long when pointing down
- Only grows in dark places and never in the Nether
- Bright light nearby can make it fall on whoever stands below
- Hurts entities when it falls and deals extra damage to anyone landing on it
- Melts away near light sources or in the Nether, leaving only the base block
Freezing Effect
A new mob effect. Important details:
- Makes the player shake, weakens jumps, and eventually starts dealing damage
- Works like being stuck in Powder Snow for the whole duration
- Leather Armor stops you from freezing but doesn't remove the effect itself
- Mobs sensitive to cold take five times more damage from it
- Potion, Splash Potion, and Lingering Potion of Freezing are brewed with Ice Balls
- Arrows of Freezing are made by dipping Arrows into a Cauldron with Potion of Freezing
Frostbite
A new hostile mob. Main features:
- A frozen relative of the Zombie
- Lives in cold and icy biomes
- Prefers close combat, where each hit applies Freezing
- Throws Ice Balls when the target is far away
- Turns into a regular Zombie after staying underwater long enough
- Drops Rotten Flesh and Ice Balls
- Walks on Powder Snow without sinking
- Completely immune to freezing and slowdowns from cold
- Zombies and Husks become Frostbites if they get stuck in Powder Snow
Ice Ball
A new projectile. Properties:
- The Frostbite's favorite ranged weapon
- Deals up to 4 damage and knocks targets back
- The slower it flies, the weaker the hit
- Shatters on impact with a sound and particle effect
