Minecraft 1.21.90.20 for Android
Developers have released a test version of Minecraft 1.21.90.20 for Android. This update adds new features for Leads, updates the User Interface, and makes 10 changes.
Lead
New item features. Details:
- Lead Knots
- Mobs can be tied to created Lead Knots
- Knots Can Be Removed With Shears
- Cannot remove other players' Leads
- Can be used in Dispensers
- Mobs can be tied to other tethered mobs
- Need to hold a Lead, Sneak, and interact with the mob
- Tethered mobs can be "stolen" when retethered by another user
- Retethering will instantly break if there's a large distance between the owner and the mob
- Tethered Llamas don't form caravans
- Tethered mobs cannot be tied to themselves
- Baby mobs cannot have other mobs tethered to them
- Known bug: when tethering two creatures, the Lead may display under the second mob
- Tethered mobs become untethered when using Fireworks while using Elytra
- Tethered mobs smoothly change their position to align with the owner
- Fixed movement of tethered Boats in the air
- Lead breaking distance increased to 12 blocks
- Exception — Happy Ghasts break the Lead at a distance of 16 blocks
- Distance is measured from the center of entities
- When moving, tethered entities will orient towards the lead
- On Boats and large mobs (that don't fit in Boats) when tethered to a Happy Ghast, 4 Leads will be displayed
- The Happy Ghast will get a special rope belt
Experimental Features
Updated user interface. Main points:
- Jump and Sprint panels no longer have priority over the Player Locator panel when inactive in Creative mode
- Moved the interaction button in Creative mode upward for touch devices to prevent overlapping the Player Locator
- Fixed the display of character points in the Player Locator during split-screen gameplay
- Item name tooltip is no longer cut off when the Player Locator is enabled in Creative mode
Changes
Made 8 changes. Important ones:
- Vibrant Visuals
- Now the default graphics mode on supported devices
- Added the ability to connect specific display settings to each biome
- Increased backscattering of light underwater
- Added MERS texture support for Signs
- Added new texture resources for various elements
- Updated textures for Metal blocks, plants, and some mobs
- Changed the rarity of Dried Ghast to common
- Happy Ghast turns more smoothly
Version Parity
Made 2 changes for Bedrock-Java parity. Properties:
- "Snow Kingdom" flat world is created with a Snow Layer instead of a Snow Block
- Happy Ghast's glasses are always lowered when there is at least one passenger
Bug Fixes
Fixed 28 bugs. Interesting ones:
- Vibrant Visuals
- Cloud shadows no longer appear and disappear when looking around
- Directional lighting doesn't cut out 8 blocks below the water surface
- Paintings display with correct PBR properties, shadows, and lighting
- Crimson and Warped Roots can no longer burn
- Unflooded Dried Ghast blocks play ambient sounds only on Soul Sand or Soul Soil blocks
- Jungle leaves become transparent when transparency for all leaf types is enabled
- Sounds from the /playsound command cannot be heard in another dimension
- Command Blocks do not cause crashes
- Pausing during block breaking will reset the breaking animation
- Moved Trident to other tools in the Creative inventory
- Happy Ghast
- Passengers on a stationary mob don't become invisible and don't lose their hitbox
- Doesn't become a platform when near a player
- Doesn't move randomly when carrying passengers
- Isn't pushed by mobs when it has a driver
- Fixed endless staring at the user after being attracted by Snowballs or Harness
- Ghastlings grow in 20 minutes instead of 400 minutes
- Mob elements don't have extra spaces in names
- Brutes disappear when switching to Peaceful difficulty
- Fixed interaction with Bundles
- "Text Background Opacity" setting affects hotbar tooltips, chat message background, and leaderboard display
