Minecraft 1.21.40.20 for Android

Developers have released a test version of Minecraft 1.21.40.20 for Android. This update improves the Bundle, introduces 16 changes, and fixes 20 bugs.

Bundle

Improved test capabilities. Key points:

• "Use" button appears when selecting a Bundle in the hotbar
- Button extracts items
• Hotbar displays a fill bar
• Added animation and sounds for item extraction
• Tooltips consider safe screen area
• Dropping empties one group of items, not all at once
• "Clear hotbar" tooltip appears when hovering over Bundle
• "Swap" tooltip appears when hovering over another item
• "Place" tooltip appears on all screens when holding an item

Changes

6 changes were made. Key highlights:

• Huge mushroom stem is now a separate block
• Split Skulls into separate types for use in commands
• Added entity_offset parameter for Camera commands
• Wind Charge cannot be hit and redirected after throwing
• Cats, Parrots, and Wolves teleport to owner when panicking or far away
• Added message for unavailable Marketplace templates

Version Parity

10 changes were made to align Bedrock with Java. Notable ones:

• Piglins no longer pick up Powered Rails
• Creepers drop a Music Disc when killed by a Stray
• Strays drop Tipped Arrows when killed by player's pets
• Added sound for dyeing Lead and Sheep
• Lowered chance of raising Composter level from Huge Mushroom Stem from 85% to 65%
• Removed multi-side spore Mushroom block from Creative inventory
• Enchanted Golden Apples now give Regeneration II instead of Regeneration V
• Added infinite duration and cancel parameters for effect command
• Placing Cocoa Beans now plays a sound
• Beehive and Bee Nest can no longer be used as fuel in Furnaces

Bug Fixes

20 bugs were fixed. Details:

• Improved loading of adjacent chunks at max framerate on Nintendo Switch
• Command-placed Vines are visible again
• ShowRecipeMessages gamerule no longer considered a cheat
• Bed interaction sets spawn point regardless of nearby enemies
• Player doesn't lose velocity when hitting world border
• Large scaling on iOS no longer turns Minecraft pink
• Polar Bears drop Cooked Fish when dying in lava or fire
• Pillager celebrate3 sound works again
• Cats, Parrots, and Wolves find paths easily after teleporting to owner
• Wolves teleport to owner in combat if too far away
• Fixed add-on activation for Realms
• Dismount tooltip doesn't appear when entering world or changing dimensions
• Armor stops displaying on screen when broken
• Fixed Stonecutter close button
• Aligned Hunger and Health bars with XP bar in classic UI on mobile
• Fixed Air Bubble alignment
• Fixed character thumbnail position
• Percent sign in Potion descriptions displays correctly
• Changed chat message for death by Warden's spikes
• Chat messages no longer overlap by one pixel
